Hook up DIAGRAM - Analog TV, Digital Cable box

Cables Connections and explanation:

Digital Cable TV service is used to receive TV signals.

1. Connect a coaxial RF cable from cable TV RF wall outlet to Signal Splitter input.

2. Connect a coaxial RF cable from one output of the splitter to TV antenna input.

3. Connect a coaxial RF cable from second splitter output to the RF input of the cable box.

4. Connect RCA video and audio cables from cable box RCA outputs to TV RCA input jacks.

Why would you want this configuration?

o To view TV shows including digital and analog channels.
o To view analog channels without using the cable box.

What can you do with this configuration?

o Watch TV.

What settings do you need for this configuration?

The analog cable-ready TV is set on channels 2 thru 99 if watching without the cable box. Some analog channels can be omitted from the digital cable box setup so not using the cable box may allow access to these channels. When digital channels are to be viewed, you must use the cable box and the TV is set on the video input connected to the cable box outputs. This can be VIDEO 1 or some other name depending on your model TV. Consult owner's manual here. Digital Channels are selected on the cable box using the cable box's remote. Digital channels are typically channels 100 thru 999.
