Hookup Diagram High Definition cable box and HDTV

Connecting cables between HD cable box and HDTV is just one part of setting up for High Definition viewing. HD resolution must be 720p, 1080i or 1080p in order to get High Definition. 480i is standard old TV and 480p is called EDTV, a notch below HDTV. Consult your owner's manual for both the cable box and HDTV to learn how to setup for High-Def viewing. HDMI carries both video and audio and is all digital.
