HD Satellite Receiver (Dish Network) with HDMI and RCA composite video outputs. 3. Standard VHS VCR. 4. DVD Recorder with up-conversion HDMI Out. Connections: o HDMI cable from Satellite Receiver HDMI Out to TV HDMI Input. o HDMI cable from DVD recorder HDMI Out to TV HDMI Input. o RCA 3 cable (video/audio) from Satellite Receiver RCA outputs to DVD Recorder RCA AV inputs. o VCR RCA 3 cable AV Outputs to TV RCA 3 cable Inputs. Cables Connections and explanation: Select correct source input on TV for VCR or satellite or recorder. What settings do you need for this configuration? The TV is set on HDMI 1, 2 or RCA AV input. DVD Recorder is set to line input. Variations: The RCA outputs on the recorder could be connected to the VCR RCA inputs to allow copying to a VHS tape on the VCR. The VCR RF coax input could be connected to a DTV converter box for over-the-air TV recording (TV antenna required). Issues: TV does not have RCA AV inputs, only HDMI Use a RCA to HDMI adapter. DVD recorder does not have HDMI output, only RCA Use a RCA to HDMI adapter or for an older TV, use a RCA switch box. 4 In and 1 Out to allow VCR and DVD recorder to connect to TV.
