This connection involves an analog TV, DVD Recorder, DVD/VCR Combo unit and Home Theater in a box.

Cables Connections and explanation:
A VHF/UHF antenna is used to receive TV broadcasts.
1. Connect antenna to RF input on DVD Recorder. Connect a RF coaxial cable (RG-6) from DVD Recorder RF output to VCR RF input.
2. Connect VCR RF Out to TV Antenna Input using RF coaxial cable.
3. Connect video and audio RCA cables (yellow, white, red) from OUT on DVD recorder and combo unit to TV A/V inputs.
4. Connect digital audio cables (optical or coaxial) from DVD recorder and combo unit OUTs to Home Theater digital audio Inputs.

What settings do you need for this configuration?
The TV, VHS recorder and DVD recorder will need to be set to the proper input depending on your source.
Select proper input source on the TV to watch VHS, DVD or broadcast TV. Select proper input source on VCR to record TV.
The input sources can be selected usually by using the remote control buttons for the respective devices.
Buttons such as LINE or VIDEO or AUX or INPUT SELECT or an actual channel such as 93 or 00 or 99 depending on your brand. Consult owner's manual here.
The DVD recorder will "pass-thru" the TV signal when powered off. For playback from DVD recorder, use A/V out and select LINE input on the TV.
When turned ON, the VCR will output on the three RCA cables to the TV. Set the TV to LINE input to view the VCR output. Use INPUT SELECT or VIDEO or AUX button on the TV remote control to select the proper input source.
Select proper channel to record on the DVD recorder or the VCR as each has its own TV tuner.
