Motorized TV Mounts Checklist Check the Load Capacity and Weight Confirm the mount can handle the TV’s weight, particularly because motorized mechanisms are heavier than static mounts. Wall Structure and Studs Ensure you have at least two studs for security, or create a plywood backing plate to span studs if necessary. Power must be available nearby to run the motor Plan for electrical outlet placement. Motorized mounts (12V or 24V) require a nearby AC power source. Clearance Measure twice to ensure the mount does not collide with mantels, soundbars, or ceiling obstacles during movement. Cable Management Use cable management sleeves or zip ties to ensure cords do not catch or kink during the TV movement. Alignment and Leveling Misalignment causes binding, noise, and premature actuator failure. Use a precise level during installation. Periodically check that bolts have not loosened from vibration, and keep the motor area clean. Safety Familiarize yourself with the emergency stop. Ensure the VESA pattern is centered on the TV.
