  Connect TV, Digital TV Converter Box, DVD/VCR Combo unit and RF Modulator

This connection involves a Digital to Analog TV box, Analog TV, DVD/VCR Combo unit and RF Modulator.

RF Modulators are available at Wal-Mart or Radio Shack or online and cost around $20.

Components:

o Over-the-air TV broadcasts
o Analog TV with only VHF/UHF input jack.
o CECB Digital to Analog Converter box
o DVD/VCR Combo unit
o RF Modulator
o Audio/Video RCA cables (1-yellow, 1-red & 1-white audio).
o RF coaxial cables (RG-6).

Cables Connections and explanation:

A TV antenna UHF/VHF is used to receive TV signals.

1. Connect a coaxial RF cable from antenna to DTV converter box RF input. This is for watching TV.

2. Connect a coaxial RF cable from DTV box to RF Modulator RF input.

3. Connect a coaxial RF cable from RF Modulator RF output jack to the TV's RF VHF/UHF input jack. Set TV to channel 3 or 4.

4. Connect RCA video and audio cables from DTV box RCA outputs to Combo VCR/DVD RCA input jacks. This is for recording.

5. Connect RCA video and audio cables from Combo unit's RCA outputs to RF Modulator's RCA inputs. This is for playback.

o Play recordings or VHS movie tapes to TV.
o Play DVDs to TV.

What settings do you need for this configuration?

The TV, DVD/VHS recorder will need to be set to the proper input depending on your source. The input sources can be selected usually by using the remote control buttons for the respective devices. Buttons such as LINE or VIDEO or AUX or INPUT SELECT or an actual channel such as 93 or 00 or 99 depending on your brand. Consult owner's manual here.


TV Channels are selected on the DTV converter box using the remote control for the box.
