HOW TO CONTROL VOLUME FOR TV HEADPHONES Connecting headphones to Smart TVs is not as easy as the older analog TV sets which had analog audio outputs. Often, digital TVs have only the optical digital audio output and often, the volume level is fixed on these outputs. This means you may need to alter the volume level up or down. The headphone amplifier is one solution for controlling volume. It may also provide several other functions including multiple headphones (two people) and mute control for commercials. You need an audio converter or DAC to convert the digital audio from the TV set to analog audio for headphones. Then connect the headphone amplifier to the DAC and finally, the headphones to the amplifier. The headphone amp allows you to turn the volume up or down or to mute the sound. The perfect hard of hearing solution also. Turn the volume up while using headphones and you will not disturb others with TV sound too loud. With the headphone amp below you can adjust the volume for each person's preference. That way each person can listen to the TV at the volume level desired. One to four people at the same time can use the amp with individual volume control. Connect the DAC to the Amp using audio extension cord with 3.5mm stereo plugs or 1/4 stereo plug at one end. Wireless headphones could also be used but Bluetooth and RF headphones sometimes produce an audio delay between what is seen on the TV and what you hear which is very annoying. The direct wired connection does not have this problem.
